Gravel Driveways, Parking Areas & Pads

A gravel driveway is only as good as what's under the top layer. We dig out soft ground, build a base of larger crushed stone, top it with a finer stone that packs tight, and grade it so water runs off instead of making ruts.

How we build them

  1. Excavate. Remove topsoil and soft spots so the stone sits on solid ground.
  2. Fabric if needed. On wet or clay-heavy ground, a geotextile fabric keeps the stone from sinking into the soil.
  3. Base course. Larger crushed stone, compacted.
  4. Top course. Finer crushed stone that locks together, compacted again.
  5. Crown and drainage. A crown or cross slope so water sheds to the sides, plus ditches or culverts where needed.

We bring the stone

With our own dump truck, we haul the stone in ourselves, which keeps the job moving. Need stone for your own project? We deliver. See gravel delivery.
