Stamped Concrete in Norwich & Central New York
Stamped concrete gives you the look of slate, stone or weathered boards in one solid slab. No pavers to settle, no joints to pull weeds out of. We form it, pour it, stamp it, color it and seal it ourselves.
Patterns we pour
Recent jobs give you a feel for what's possible. Every one of these photos is our own work:
- Seamless slate. A natural stone texture with no grout lines. We poured a seamless stamped hot tub patio in North Norwich with it.
- Ashlar slate. Cut stone blocks in a random layout. Great on big patios and front entries, like the ashlar entryway we finished in Norwich.
- Wood plank. The look of a hardwood deck in concrete. One customer in Preston wanted a patio that looked like a hardwood floor, and that's what they got.
- Color borders. A band of contrasting color and pattern around the edge to frame a walk or patio.
We have plenty of other colors and stamp patterns to choose from. Bring a photo of something you like and we'll tell you honestly how close we can get.
How a stamped job goes
- Dig and base. We excavate and grade with our own machines, then build a compacted stone base so the slab doesn't settle or heave.
- Forms and reinforcement. Forms set to the shape and slope you want, with reinforcement where the job needs it.
- Pour and color. The concrete is placed and leveled, colored, then stamped while it's still workable. Timing matters here, so the crew is on it from start to finish.
- Joints and seal. Control joints are cut where they belong, the surface is cleaned, and a sealer brings out the color and protects it.
Built for Central New York winters
Freeze-thaw cycles and road salt are hard on any outdoor surface. That's why the base and the joints matter as much as the pattern. A stamped slab also needs a fresh coat of sealer every few years to keep the color rich and the surface protected, especially on aprons where cars track in salt. We reseal our own work and other people's. See concrete cleaning and sealing.

Is stamped concrete slippery?
A sealed stamped surface can be slicker than broom finish when wet. Around pools and hot tubs we can add a slip-resistant additive to the sealer and pick textures that grip better. Ask about it when we quote.
Stamped concrete or pavers?
Pavers are individual pieces that can shift and grow weeds in the joints. Stamped concrete is one reinforced slab, so there are no gaps to weed. One of our Norwich customers replaced her paver walk with concrete for exactly that reason.
How often does stamped concrete need sealing?
Plan on resealing every few years, sooner on driveways and aprons that see salt. Once water stops beading on the surface, it's time.
Can you stamp a driveway or apron?
Yes. Stamped aprons and driveway borders are common. We'll talk through which patterns and finishes make sense for something you drive on.
