Garage & Basement Floors
Garage and basement floors are a specialty of ours. New garage, or an old floor that's cracked, heaved and falling apart? We remove it, fix what's underneath and pour a smooth, durable floor that handles anything you park or store.
Recent garage floors
We've poured garage floors in Oxford and Verona lately, along with pole building floors and big slabs. The Verona floor in these photos was finished with a power trowel for a smooth, dense surface that's easy to sweep and stands up to car tires.
Replacing an old floor
- Break out and haul away the old concrete. We have our own equipment and dump truck.
- Fix the base. Old floors usually fail because of what's under them. We regrade and compact stone so the new floor has solid support.
- Pour and trowel. A smooth troweled finish inside, sloped toward the door or a drain if you want one.
- Joints. Saw cut control joints so the floor cracks where it's supposed to, if it cracks at all.
Basement floors
Basement floors are tighter work: limited access, low ceilings and plumbing to work around. We'll look at the space first and plan how concrete gets in, whether that's chute, wheelbarrow or pump.

How long before I can park in my garage?
Plan on about a week before parking a car on a new floor. Walking on it is fine much sooner.
Can you add a floor drain?
Yes. Drains, slope toward the door, and thickened areas for a lift or heavy equipment can all be planned in before the pour.
Do you pour floors in pole barns and shops too?
Yes, and big ones. See pole barn and barndominium floors.
